Welcome to the lodge at Phoenix Mountain where you will find ticket sales and lodge amenities.  Here you can warm up with your favorite hot beverage and chat with friends.  Downstairs is the public washroom and storage cubes. Upstairs we have our licensed cafeteria, eating area, and ticket sales. Large deck off upstairs concession,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have young ones that are just beginning or you\u2019re learning for yourself, the rope-tow is conveniently located right next to the parking lot and lodge.  Phoenix is a great place to learn or teach your children to ski because most of the hill is visible right from the lodge and the \u201cbunny hill\u201d is right there too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those that like to get out on the slopes our T-Bar will get you there. The unloading stations are located at tower 2, 3, and 6, the top.  Towers 2 and 3 provide excellent opportunity for beginners and intermediates looking to expand on their skills.  While taking the ride to the top of the hill provides access to many intermediate and advanced runs as well as the Terrain Park, and the easy way out and one of the fan favorites, Lizard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our T-Bar and Rope Tow will get you and your family to the top of the world.  With over 800ft of vertical, Phoenix Mountain is by no means a large ski area, but we think that is what makes it so attractive for families.<\/p>\n\n\n

Getting You There<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Phoenix Ski Area is located 8km off of Highway 3 in Southern BC, at the midpoint of the southern border of British Columbia.  The Phoenix Ski Area road meets Highway #3 \u2013 21 km west of Grand Forks and 19 km east of Greenwood and is marked by an overhead highway sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phoenix is a compact ski area with awesome terrain. It has a family-friendly, hometown feel that many take pride in.  Imagine standing on the sun-filled deck in the image above, chatting with friends and family, taking in the fresh experience around you.  We love the atmosphere at Phoenix and the staff work hard to give every customer the best experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the season, we hold various events that you are going to want to check out.  Whether racing in the Phoenix Open or entering a dummy for the Spring Fling Dummy Downhill, there is no shortage of fun for everyone. Phoenix Mountain History<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Phoenix Ski Area is situated in BC\u2019s southern interior, 8 km off Highway 3  between the cities of Greenwood and Grand Forks. It was conceived and built in the late sixties by a dedicated group of local ski enthusiasts from Grand Forks, Greenwood and Midway, with the invaluable support of the Granby Mining Company, one of the major local industries at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to the construction of the ski area, local residents were skiing off of a little handle-tow that ran up what is today known as \u201cTelemark Hill\u201d on the north side of Marshall Lake, very near to the ghost town at the City of Phoenix, and the Phoenix Mine. Looking to create a more elaborate ski facility for the Boundary residents, a few visionaries scouted the perfect location on nearby Deadman Ridge. Working together, they invested their precious time and dollars to clear the runs, build the road and purchase and install the lift. Donations of expertise, machinery and buildings from the Granby Mining Company rounded out their efforts. Within a year of opening, a new day lodge and rental shop were built, both of which are still in use today, over 50 years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, the hill has been sustained by the patronage, financial support and volunteer contributions of the Boundary Community, as well as various funding opportunities available to non-profits. We consider ourselves most fortunate to have this little gem of a ski area in the heart of our Boundary community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
